TRAFILTUBI OGGI
Today’s product innovation is a direct consequence of Trafiltubi’s awareness of the value of its own tradition.
Our company, founded by Gilberto Colombo, is still specialized in the cold drawing of high-quality tubes, subjected to various thermal and mechanical treatments, differentiated according to requirements, in order to achieve with the utmost precision the technical characteristics required for different applications.
The exceptional technical characteristics of special steels are further enhanced by processing at different thicknesses along the same tube and by shaping into a wide variety of forms.
Thanks to the experience accumulated over its long tradition, TRAFILTUBI maintains strong and well-established historical relationships with its customers and suppliers, and is able to flexibly meet the most sophisticated service and supply requirements.
TRAFILTUBI also means continuous innovation. It is this innovative drive that leads us to constantly expand our range of special steels. Historically a specialist in all micro-alloyed special steels (15CDV6, 25CrMo4 and 42CrMo4, as well as all quenched and tempered steels), since 2007 Trafiltubi has also become the first hybrid manufacturer, capable of producing and supplying both carbon and stainless steel tubes: in a wide variety of materials and shapes, and according to the highest quality standards. Today TRAFILTUBI can boast, compared to all other competitors, the widest range of steels, including stainless grades, as well as nickel alloys.
This achievement stems from studies promoted in 2005 by TRAFILTUBI, in collaboration with the best technicians from the Aubert & Duval steelworks, aimed at developing new seamless tubular structures capable of combining high-performance characteristics previously unattainable in a single solution: namely tubes resistant to corrosion, featuring high mechanical strength, easily workable to obtain different thicknesses and shapes, and finally easily weldable without inducing weakness near the weld areas. As a result of this research, in 2006 HInoxTUBE® was introduced, an exclusive product, protected by patent, made from a special cold-drawn stainless material, shapeable and workable to different thicknesses, offering exceptional performance in terms of mechanical properties and weldability.
Finally, part of Trafiltubi’s historical heritage is the extensive archive of technical drawings left by Gilberto Colombo, which allows us to assist all enthusiasts in the restoration and faithful reconstruction of vintage Gilco frames.
